    KCA 12 HOUR

The 12 Hour course is different this year. More information on the 12 Hour site at www.kca12hour.org.uk

    ESCA 100 CANCELLED

The ESCA 100 has been cancelled as there are long term road works, which will continue beyond the date of the event, on the A22 between Halland and The Shaw roundabouts. It has not been possible to find an acceptable alternative course. In the circumstances, I feel I have no option but to cancel the event, doing so in time for riders to enter the SCCU 100 (details below), the only similar event remaining in Southern England this year.

Whilst unfortunate, this will preserve the reputation we have gained in recent years for running a high quality, friendly event. We look forward to returning in 2015 with a further fine time trial.

The Southern Counties 100 is on Sunday 27 July in West Sussex. Entry costs £8.00 and the Organiser is: Rod Starmer, 23 Tanhouse Road, OXTED, Surrey RH8 9PE. Tel. 01883 713043.

As online entry is not available, you will need to send a paper entry.

    EMAIL ATTACK

Unfortunately the webmaster@kentcyclingassociation.org.uk has been used to send out a spam paypal phising email. The intention is for recipients to click on a link in the email body to infect their machines.

The emails have not originated from the webmaster email account but the spammers have used the webmaster email as the apparent sender. This means that any replies are sent to the webmaster inbox.

I usually disguise the email address using code to stop this happening unfortunately in this instance I simply used the email address. I have deleted the email account for the time being. You can contact me through the Kent Vets website.

Apologies if anyone has been impacted by this.

    Ian Masterson

Regrettably Ian Masterson (pictured at the 2007 12 Hour with Clarice) passed away recently. His funeral arrangements are:

    1230hrs July4th at Medway crematorium,

and afterwards at The Old Prince of Orange DA13 1NJ. At the cross roads with old road west & Singewell road Gravesend.

    Website Problems

I am afraid that we have had some problems with the web site. The firm that hosts the site has made several upgrades to their service but it appears that the KCA website has been hit by numerous problems. The site was suspended today in error and this has highlighted a number of problems. I will endeavour to rectify these over the coming days Tim

    Social Secretary

The Association needs a volunteer to take over as Social Secretary. Please contact Esther or any other member of the committee if you are interested. Details on the contacts page

    KCA 12 Hour Course

The details of the 2014 12 Hour course are now available. The course avoids the use of the Ivychurch circuit and for 2014 riders will simply use a combination of the Breznett to Rye and the Brenzett to Camber circuits. At three o'clock riders will be sent straight up to the finishing circuit. The event will start earlier at 5:30, so all riders are likely to need lights. The full details are:
